Photo’s (safe photos)

First I have Flickr which is not really experimental but it is not too easy to share photos from (ie giving out a public link)

My first photo galery was at Go daddy which was free as part of the Domain cost (recomend them for all the goodies they give for free)

Now the experiment pages here at JerryPrater.com Gallery

  1. After exploring a number of the articles on your site, I really
appreciate your technique of writing a blog. I bookmarked it to my bookmark website list and will
be checking back in the near future. Please check out
my web site as well and tell me how you feel.

  2. First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which
I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your
head prior to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my
mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas
    or hints? Kudos!

    1. You know I asked a pretty respected Author, what makes a writer, and he said that it is simple, a writer is obsessed with writing. I might have at first ignored the urge to write. but I have whiteboards and little note books and big notebooks and 3 laptops and 2 desktops. just what ever comes to mind I am jotting something down. Getting gritty with your audience sometimes means you walk around your apartment looking at all the ideas you been jotting down and then there is an “aha” moment and you rush to your blog and start just letting the letters fly. Will the audience clap? did you really feed the expectations of your readers? frankly my dear I don’t give a damn. I write what is in my heart it is in my way my song my music my painting, who is there to judge my writings? I do it because I am compelled to do it. But as you asked the first 10 or fifteen minutes are dull then stop. use a different medium. write lists and brainstorm, put it up on a white board. use post it notes and cover your refrigerator. when the time is right nothing will hold you back. Go Forth!

  3. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different
then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

    1. Well when I first started writing I just wrote, napkins notebooks anything I could get my hands on I was writing. I found Blogger which is still free amazing and I have like 14 blogs up there but I just grew tired of it. I don’t know. there is something special having a domain with your own brand / name one it. I first found Hostgator who trapps you into their system by giving you an unheard of cheap start up plan. just take the starter and let them sell it to you, they handle the domain your whole cost will be about 70 dollars for the first year. or if you are wise and have the bucks you can at that time extend and pay for 3 years in advance at that really good start up discount. then they in your cpanel you have a button for quick instal. install wordpress, for a few good reasons. first off there is tons of advice and videos and tutorals on wordpress. second the themes have gone from just pretty pictures and backgrounds to complex css engines that make your whole designing of your website all drag and drop, it is a snap. seems they improve their stuff like every month more stuff comes out. Word press originally is a blogging platform, which means if you don’t change your settings the first page people see when they land in your site will be your blog. which is cool. but I learned you can have them land on a start or introductary page fire. For now I only have two pages. I have toyed with other pages but havent kept up with the updatiing so I just removed their links. I hope this helps you. ask more and I will see if i can help

  4. Good questions, Frankly I don’t pay much attention to the folks using their tablets or phones to read blogs, I figure blogging is a desktop platform; I realize times are changing so I might need to lean more like you to invite and try to appeal to all those people who do everything with their noses in front of an I phone. One hint is you can pay for and install themes to word press, if that is the base platform you are using. These themes claim to do alot more than just change the back ground picture but the as well create directories that will show your site in mobile friendly format and its pretty easy to set up. what you do is first research a light version of the theme which will after you install it ask you to sign up for pro. If you have done your research the whole installation is painless without extra tech support and you are on your way. good luck, I hope this letter made sense I know I haven’t told you what themes I have played with yet or the web sites I went to see the demo’s of them, I decided after playing with them I would just go back to the normal free theme and not worry about mobile pages and interactive widgets, after all I just have a blog here not an arcade. LOL peace
